Start with points won and lost. Add the play details that will help answer a question after the match; every rally does not need a full set of ratings.
Keep service order, court switches and timeouts connected to the score. The match workflow follows your two-player pair.
Record who received serve, whether an attack was a spike, shot or poke, and whether it went line or cross-court. Add these details when you want to review them later.
Follow the same pair across matches, or an individual player after a partner change. Keep the pair’s rally results distinct from the details recorded for a player.
Side-out rate is the share of rallies your pair wins when the opponent serves. Recording the receiver lets you review the result of rallies that began with a particular player receiving.
The set and attack after reception also influence that result. Receiver side-out is a pair outcome, not an individual passing grade or proof of who caused a lost point.
Review a suggested drill, check its purpose, player count and time, then add it to your next session. Beach-specific practice focuses on the roles and ball contacts your pair needs to connect.
Agree who receives and who sets, use a clear call, and work on returning the ball through three contacts.
Decide on the attack type and direction before the attempt, then practice placing the ball line or cross-court.
Agree which direction the blocker covers and which space the defender protects, then aim to keep the dig available for the next set.
Receiver and attack breakdowns need those details recorded. Drill suggestions depend on the record or selected focus and your practice conditions, including player count and time.
Use a practice match to see whether the record answers a useful question for your pair. Add deeper analysis or shared entry when you need it.
